The research aims to measure the degree of participation of colleges of education in the Syrian Arab Republic in social development from the point of view of faculty members. The questionnaire was built according to four axes (academic, social, cultural awareness, crisis management), and the descriptive analytical approach was used. The research sample consisted of (201) faculty members from colleges of education (Damascus , Homs, Euphrates, Lattakia, Aleppo, Tartous, Hama), and the research was conducted in the academic year 2022/2023, the second semester. The research reached several results, the most important of which are: The degree of participation of colleges of education in social development in the fields (academic and awareness) was average, and in the fields (social and crisis management) it was weak. Regarding the research variables, there were no differences according to the gender variable, but differences appeared according to the variables of academic rank, experience, and the variable of the university in which one studies. The research presented a set of proposals: linking the results of scientific research to reality and supporting scientific research financially, linking to the labor market, participating in all community activities and supporting technology by investing more in technical programs and employing them in the educational, psychological and social fields.
